Tampa Bay came into the game averaging 1.8 goals in Lindback's appearances while scoring more than three goals per game for starter Ben Bishop.
"He has deserved better from us and for us to get four for him and for him to shut the door like he did, he deserved it," Lightning coach Jon Cooper said of Lindback. "He was on today. He's played way better than his record."
"I felt like we controlled the whole third period," Cooper said. "There were stretches where it seemed like we had the puck for 15 of the 20 minutes. We didn't score a goal but we kept them on their heels the whole time. We didn't sit back. We wanted to go out and win a hockey game and we did that."

"Anytime you lose a game and you sit here and say 'I thought we played well and lost,' it's disappointing," Cooper said. "We made some colossal errors that cost us and they capitalized.
"I didn't think it was one of those games where they it took to us. I thought they took advantage of what we gave them and we burned tonight."
Tampa Bay played the final four-plus minutes with an empty net.
The Lightning play a 5 p.m. ET game Sunday against the Detroit Red Wings before ending a three-game trip with a visit to the New York Islanders on Tuesday.
"We have to turn the page," Cooper said. "We have Detroit in less than 24 hours and we have to get ready and play like we did tonight without the errors."

X-rays/healing of bone will ultimately determine Stamkos's return date but he's targeting practice in last wk of Jan, playing 1st wk of Feb.
Stamkos will work out over Christmas with Gary Roberts and intends to do that on the ice as well as in the gym.
Jonathan Drouin (concussion) symptom free today (so far). Rode exercise bike, following protocols, if all goes well may skate by Tuesday.
